Kristina Barta is internationally renown composer and pianist. After studying classical music and composition at the Prague Conservatory this native Czech pianist graduated from the Academy of Music Arts in Prague, specialising in jazz piano.
Kristina has played many major jazz clubs in Europe including Bimhuis Hall (Ned), A-Trane (Ger), Budapest Jazz Club (Hun), Radio France (Fra). She is constantly touring and she has played most well-known festivals including Montreux (Sui), Strasbourg's Jazzdor (Fra), D'Jazz Nevers (Fra).
In 2016 Kristina was placed 1st in the composer's competition hosted by OSA. The same year her trio was the finalist of Euroradio Jazz Competition. Kristina is also the winner of the 2017 Powiew Mlodegu Jazzu in Poland, where she received an individual price for her piano playing. She is also the winner of Jazz Prix Competition 2015 in Germany.
In 2017, Kristina released her debut album EMA 29 (Alessa Records) recorded with vibraphonist David Friedman, saxophonist Karel Ruzicka jr., trumpeter Miroslav Hloucal, bassist Jan Feco, drummer Marek Urbanek and guitarist Krystof Tomecek.
